Matthew Butler, OFFICE OF MILITARY AND VETERANS’ SERVICES, executive director of Military and Veterans’ Services, won the Chapter Advisor of the Year award at the Student Veterans of America National Conference from Jan. 8 to 10 in Colorado Springs. Fordham’s student veterans group, RamVets, also received a Student Veterans of America (SVA) Chapter of the Year award. The group was one of five finalists selected from more than 1,600 SVA chapters nationwide.

Donn Mitchell, SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING STUDIES, College at 60 instructor, published Eleanor Roosevelt’s Nightly Prayer: The Religious Life of the First Lady of the World (Morehouse, 2025), which explores the role of the religious community in shaping the conscience of one of the 20th century’s most consequential figures.

Anantharam Raghuram, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, professor of mathematics, was awarded a Simons Fellowship for the 2026–2027 academic year to support his research project, Automorphic Cohomology and L-functions. Raghuram will spend his sabbatical at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, studying the full range of L-functions arising in the Langlands program, which is widely regarded as a grand unifying framework in modern mathematics.
