Julia Cherashore, GABELLI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, adjunct professor, moderated a panel with C-level executives titled “Innovation Roadblocks: Uncovering Hidden Risks That Could Derail Your AI Strategy” at the Reuters Momentum AI New York conference on April 27.
Saul Cornell, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, Paul and Diane Guenther Chair in American History, received the Award for Contributions to Public Policy from the Organization of American Historians on March 24. The award recognizes significant contributions to U.S. public policy through historical research.
Aniko DeLaney, GABELLI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, advanced lecturer of marketing, was inducted into the Marketing Hall of Fame Class of 2026 by the American Marketing Association’s New York chapter on May 6.
John Hanc, ARTS AND SCIENCES, adjunct professor of English, received an honorable mention in the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ annual writing competition for his March 2025 Newsday article, “With 500 Species, Long Island Is a Birder’s Paradise.” The story looked at the growing popularity of bird photography and birding in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Catalina Jordan Alvarez, ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of visual arts, received a $4,750 New Work Grant from the Queens Art Fund, supported by the New York Foundation for the Arts and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, for Modos de Transporte: Queens, a film about uneven transit infrastructure in New York City. Modos de Transporte: Bois de Rose, another film in her travel series, will be screened in Barcelona on May 19.
Jordan Alvarez also received a $5,000 Fordham-NYU Research Fellow and Intern Program award for expanding Modos de Transporte: Queens into a multi-channel installation prototype in collaboration with the documentary The Chickening by filmmaker Sarah Friedland, NYU professor and director of the NYU Global Media Lab. The funding will also support two Fordham student interns—Alejandro Ng-Guzman and Brittney Cate—who will assist in research, production, external grant applications, and the development of installation plans.
Naomi Waltman, FORDHAM LAW SCHOOL, adjunct professor of law, received a lifetime achievement award at the 2026 Women, Influence, and Power in Law Awards ceremony on April 14 in Chicago. The awards honor women leaders who have demonstrated commitment to advancing and empowering women in law.
